The last run of the Financial Year was set by El Keano from Schipp Road in Kalamunda. This was a welcome new start point for all bar the Hare. The General Meeting held annually took place at a well attended dinner the night before. A new Committee of Mismanagement was elected including Red Light as the new Grand Master/Mistress. Maybe there was a slightly spooky resonance with changes of authority in Canberra though presumably the new Prime Minister does not use a referee’s whistle to impose order. The Hare had thoughtfully provided both a walkers and a runners trail. The former group had printed maps provided (or would have if the hare had not left them at home). However, by seizing his children’s drawing supplies from his car he was able to provide hand drawn replacements. The trails were quite hilly but extremely scenic. Both groups crossed Piesse Brook a number of times. Torch completed the run fairly liberally covered in blood from abrasions following a fall. Hash Mash (Nameless) delivered first aid with the assistance of Dosh. Torch subsequently found he had managed to break several toes in the process. If these were prehensile before, they certainly were not afterwards. Injuries notwithstanding, all agreed this was an excellent run at a spot well worth a return visit. ![]() |
