We gathered in the tall forest near Mundaring Wier for Kamikaze Ali's first run as Hare. The Hare devoted 6 hours plus to setting us a humungous run over hill and dale! (mostly hill as i recall). Runners and Walkers headed in an upwards direction and soon went their separate ways. There was a large group and we soon became a little spread out as there were some long stretches which separated the fit from the optimistic. The bush smelt and looked beautiful and we felt a million miles from civilisation. Scarlett Runner Bean and Biggles thought perhaps they were the last people on earth as they found themselves alone in the gathering dark with no sense of direction! (and i know because that was ME). New runner DOSH was welcomed to the running pack, and did well despite recovering from a tummy upset. We all made it home having covered about 10km, and - with the help of headlights - Kamikaze treated us to a very welcome sausage sizzle. Excellent first run Kamizaze! |
