#1450 16th May 2010….Redlight

Another large turnout for the Hills Hash this week, this time in Maida Vale, and it even included Matlock the Horse who was the co-hare with Redlight for the day. I was frankly suspicious of the claim that Matlock marked the flour trail himself but you never know. Leapfrog and Passiona arrived at the last minute having driven up from Manjimup. Big surprise…in essence we ran to the top of a vertical cliff (well almost), and the walkers went half way up it. There were some fabulous views…Kamikaze Ali actually stopped to look which gave Scarlett Runner Bean a chance to get ahead momentarily (no racing of course). The walkers were out longer than the runners this time, and as we waited with a beer or two, Downhill (walker) was observed running in the distance. We thought something unusual might have happened but no, he just sped up on a bit of a slope and couldn’t stop again. In the closing circle, Matlock made his mark. Lets just say it involved liquid and Kamikaze's open sandals. There was a rousing song as El Keeno was awarded his fabulous 100 Runs tankard, and we called it a day.
