#1535 8th January….Dripper New Year's resolutions were evident en masse at the run on 8th January - we had hoards of Hashers all vowing to get fitter, healthier and younger. Or failing that, at least to turn up and drink beer. Good to see back Torch, Flamethrower, Kamikaze Ali, Airbags, Skimpy, Free Beer, Soiled Sheets, Thong Bird, and probably others I forget who we haven’t seen for a bit. We were packed into the parking area in Victor Road Darlington in a typical Hash chaos, dogs and cars everywhere. Dripper was the Hare du Jour and assured us that it was going to be slightly downhill all the way, with icy-cold Margaritas every 500 metres, which was excellent news. Off we went, and curiously it was uphill which was a bit distressing, but not as distressing as the lack of Margaritas that very soon became evident, and how indignant and shocked we were about THAT. There were some truly evil false trails, with Dripper cajoling us along them and failing to hide his delight at our wasted effort. Nameless dragged a slightly reluctant Hoover around on his extending lead which proved an interesting extra hazard for the runners at times. This was to be Nameless' last run for a bit as he is off to Broome to make his fortune and become jolly famous…or possibly just to a new job with better views! The walkers did say how the walk went but I have completely erased any memory of what they said. So, lets just say it probably was not flat, and they had a good time. At the end the massed hoards romped through the available Hash Splash like a plague of locusts, and we had the usual slightly disorganised circle. Dripped attained volunteers for future runs, Nameless was presented with a farewell card, Red Dwarf doled out the Hash Haberdash, and El Keeno said some GM-ish stuff that I wasn't listening to.. Then, like an enormous version of that kids game where you have to move all the little gridlocked plastic cars (oh yes you know the one), someone managed to get a vehicle out and we were freed to make our way home.
